Minoru 3D Webcam

Minoru 3D Webcam - Worlds First 3-Dimentional Web Camera

Most films today are being released in 3D format in order to give you a realistic 3-dimentional view of the scene. If you have ever watched a 3D movie with a pair of 3D glasses, then you will surely know how good it feels. It's like you can actually feel the real world and you feel as you are part of all the things around you. So now it's time to bring all of that fun into your very own day to day web cam chats.

Here is the Minoru 3D Webcam. This gadget is the world's first ever 3D web cam bringing you pure excitement as its' name "Minoru" means 'reality' in Japanese. It will capture all the action in 3D and is capable of creating a perfect 3D effect.

The look of this gadget is just awesome. It looks like a little red robot friend with a few limbs, staring at you with its two huge eyes. Setting up your friend is as easy as plugging him into the computers' USB port and completing a few settings. The multi-positioning limbs mean that your friend will easily be able sit on the desk, or rest on the top of your monitor.

The web cam has two cameras, which are mounted on both sides and spaced apart like human eyes. The eyes have lights, which light up as you start recording. Both cameras record frames simultaneously to create two offset video frames. As the frames are combined together they create what is called the stereoscopic effect, or you could call it 3D imaging.

The web cam uses 2 x 640x480 sensors with 2 wide-angle high quality lenses and a microphone built-in. The image output ranges between 320x240 and 800x600 with images at the rate of 30 frames per second.

You can use this web cam for face-to-face chats with regular messaging programs like Skype, MSN Messenger, AOL Messenger and other video conferencing programs. And to add to the fun, your family or friends will be wearing a pair of 3d glasses to see you in 3D.

The capabilities don't end there because you can even use this gadget to shoot 3D pictures or make your own homemade 3D videos to put on Youtube. If however you do feel reverting back to 2D then the camera will function as a normal web cam and let you record in 2D. Maybe that's for people who just can't afford to buy a cheap pair of 3D glasses. But I am pretty sure that once you and your friends and family start buzzing in 3-Dimension, you won't want to come back to the flat world of 2D ever again.
